Inspiration keynote #2 from Silicon Valley 13:30 - 13:50
Biotech session 14:00 - 15:15
Drug development is often portrayed as a story of scientific progress and eventual success. Yet, behind every approved therapy lies a history of failures, delays, and hard-earned lessons. This panel will explore the hidden wisdom gained from setbacks across the drug development ecosystem—from biotech start-ups to CROs, big pharma, and venture capital.
By examining the challenges in human capital, clinical development, indication strategy, target product profiles (TPPs), and resource allocation, we aim to uncover the mistakes that shaped better decisions, the false starts that redirected strategy, and the enduring blind spots the industry still struggles with.
This candid and authentic discussion will reveal how organizations at different stages of the value chain perceive and respond to setbacks, and how these experiences can be turned into strategic advantages for the future of innovation.
Medtech session 14:00 - 15:15
The workshop “Medtech: Exploring innovations for enhanced patient journeys”, will provide exciting insights from leading industry experts and startups. Nina Lammers (Pfizer) will show how virtual worlds are changing business models, Matthias Warken (B. Braun) will talk about venture clienting and the digital future in clinics, and the startup neuroloop will present a groundbreaking implant for selective stimulation of the vagus nerve. Finally, the experts and founders will share their learnings and dos and don’ts when dealing with startups and corporations respectively.
We would like to encourage participants to engage in conversation with the speakers and with each other. Please prepare a short introduction (approx. 1 minute) describing your venture or company.
Digital health session 14:00 - 15:15
How AI is transforming the drug development pipeline — from molecule identification and target validation to clinical trials, regulatory strategy, and go-to-market.
Themes to include: Speed and cost reduction, precision and personalization, data integration and real-world evidence, democratization of R&D tools, and inclusion of patient data and biomarkers.
